What is a Roll-Fed Label?
Often referred to as unsupported film or poly wrap labels, roll-fed labels are continuous rolls of film suited for high-speed, high-volume labeling.
These labels wrap around the circumference of cylindrical containers like bottles, cans, and aerosols, offering 360 degrees of branding and marketing space.
Unlike pressure-sensitive labels, roll-fed labels do not have an adhesive layer or liner. Adhesive is applied by the application equipment during the labeling process.
Label Application
Roll-fed labels are applied using specialized labeling equipment designed for high-speed operations. The roll of unsupported film is guided through the machine and cut to the required length, adhering to the container as the label wraps around the container.
Roll-Fed Label Materials
Roll-fed labels are a cost-effective label solution. The thin gauge films are available in a wide range of gauges and are lower cost than pressure-sensitive labels due to the absence of a release liner or adhesive layer. Laminated Structure
A laminated roll-fed label combines a base layer with a laminate layer, allowing for customizable material thickness to meet specific application and aesthetic requirements. The BOPP film base ply, where your graphics and content are printed, is available as non-, low-, or high- shrink materials making it suitable for a range of container types. The base ply is offered in clear, white, or metalized and paired with an over-laminate. Laminates are available in finishes that range from high gloss to soft matte.
Mono-Web Structure
Offered in clear, white and metalized, the mono-web roll-fed label is a non-laminated, single layer BOPP or OPP film. With a range of gauge thicknesses and properties from non- to high-shrink, the right mono-layer material can be selected for your needs. Our robust UV varnishes seal and protect the label in lieu of lamination.
Single-Ply 2-Sided Roll-Fed Extended Content Label
This CastlePierce patented product doubles the available content area of a roll-fed label without introducing additional material. Our proprietary constructions allow the label to open and reseal at the overlap, revealing printed content on the label’s backside.
3-Page Roll-Fed Extended Content Label
This three-page resealable booklet style construction allows brand managers and marketers the space to fit even more regulatory content, multiple languages, and incorporate promotions such as removable coupons.
