custom die cutting services

From through cuts to scoring, creasing, and perforating, we offer die cutting services to bring designs to life that wouldn’t be possible with other cutting methods. From prototyping to production, we can handle both big and small orders to meet your specifications.

what is involved in the die cutting process?

The die cutting process involves using a specialized tool called a die, which is made of sharp blades or wires that are formed into the desired shape. Here’s how it works at Castle Pierce:

First, the desired design is created using computer-aided design (CAD) software. This design will serve as a template for the die cutting process.

Next, a die is created based on the design. The die is typically made of steel and consists of sharp blades or wires that are shaped to match the design.

The packaging material is prepared for cutting. The material may be pre-printed or plain, depending on the specific application.

Once prepped, the die is positioned above the material. Pressure is applied to force the material through the die and cut the desired shape — sorta like a cookie cutter cuts dough.

dieless knife cutting

Rather than a die, dieless knife cutting uses a computer-controlled knife (also known as a digital cutter or plotter) to cut the material into the desired shape or design. It’s ideal for scoring and small production runs.
